Have you seen this year’s Chocoholic ads on NBC WWBT12? If so, you have seen the innovative pieces produced by two members of our digital service team, as part of their pro-bono work to help Family Lifeline.
Every !mer is encouraged to do volunteer at least twenty-hours per year with one of our charity partners, as part of their regular hours. Many !mers really enjoy this aspect of their jobs and end up donating a lot more hours and doing more than one project to help members of the community.

Here are the two rotating ads developed by Gerrell Keen.
On December 5, 60 bikes were donated to the Hanover Christmas Mother in honor of Carrie Wortham, the 26-year-old who was struck and killed by a motorist as she rode her bike on a Hanover County road in early September.
Carrie was a giving and passionate woman, a VMI and St. Catherine’s graduate who worked with Midwives for Haiti and Impact Makers.
The Richmond Area Bicycling Association is honoring her by donating bikes in her name to children in need. The group raised the money, assembled the bikes, and delivered them.

The Greater Richmond Chamber of Commerce named Impact Makers a Finalist for their 2015 IMPACT Awards, one of three in the large company category. The IMPACT Award is the Chamber’s premier award and honors the ways in which businesses are making an impact on the Richmond Region economy, community and their employees.
The annual awards ceremony on November 4, 2015 featured videos of each finalist, including Impact Makers.
