On June 2, 2014 Richmond BizSense published their 2013 list of Richmond’s Top Corporate Givers. Impact Makers ranked 8th with total 2013 contributions of $246,650. The top 3 were Altria, Dominion Resources and Anthem. See the full list.

The start of a new year is an opportunity to look back on the accomplishments in 2013 and reflect on goals and contributions. I am privileged to serve as the Chair of the Board of Directors of Impact Makers, a unique management and technology consulting firm based in Richmond, Virginia.

Impact Makers contributes all profits to charitable community partners. Throughout 2013, these partners were Rx Partnership and Family Lifeline. In December, the Board and I were honored to select two additional partners: FLiPM (Future Leaders in Project Management) and the Peter Paul Development Center. more

Impact Makers CEO Michael Pirron was featured on Good.Must.Grow’s #GrowingGood List 2013 – 15 People Who Are Saving the World.

Good.Must.Grow is a socially responsible marketing firm and fellow B Corporation. Also on the list is Jay Cohen Gilbert, B Lab Co-Founder. B Lab is the nonprofit that certifies B Corps.

Impact Makers’ Principal Consultant and Digital Practice Lead Michael Ruiz presented a lunch and learn on Digital technology on Thursday, December 12.  more

The “Create Jobs for USA” website posted a success story on Impact Makers. The website is supported by the Opportunities Financing Network (OFN) and Starbucks. The OFN program funded Virginia Community Capital (VCC), which along with six mission investors, provided funding that enabled Impact Makers to create 26 full-time jobs. more

The Richmond Times-Dispatch featured the three local companies that were honored by B Lab as ‘Best for the World’ in “Three local companies recognized for community impact.” Impact Makers, Virginia Community Capital and Richmond Grid were recognized as among the best in the world for improving the quality of life in their communities. The three Richmond companies are among 61 companies in 35 industries and 13 countries that received the award. more

Best for the World Comm LGToday, Impact Makers, Greater Richmond Grid, and Virginia Community Capital were recognized for creating the most positive impact for their communities, by the nonprofit B Lab with the release of the ‘B Corp Best for Communities List,’ the fourth installment in its 2013 ‘B Corp Best for the World’ series. These three Richmond companies join 58 high impact companies across 35 industries and 13 countries honored for improving the quality of life throughout their communities. more

Richmond affiliate NBC 12 features two of the RVA Companies to Watch: Impact Makers and Shockoe, a developer of mobile apps. They interviewed Impact Makers’ Founder and CEO Michael Pirron.

Pirron said “The power of the free market in capitalism has this huge power to generate wealth in our society. The idea of social enterprise is how do you leverage that power to make social and environmental impact?”

The Financial Post published an article “9 tech companies making the world a better place” which includes Impact Makers as one of “a growing number of socially responsible companies who make money while also making the world a better place.” The article includes Change.org, Etsy, Rally Software, Audacious Inquiry, Azavea, ChangeIt, Peaceworks, Impact Makers and RocketOwl.
